Something new in my creative space

Since I saw the beautiful Kanzashi flowers that my friend Wendy makes, I got totally hooked on them. I found a tutorial over the internet -there are hundreds!- and made a first one to test, that I added to a beautiful and big shopping tote that I made with a repurposed ironing board cover that I never used. This will be soon available in my Etsy shop.

Last monday was one of those days when I feel my creative mood high. I had finished all the patterns I had cut since weeks and now I found myself thinking “which bag should I make now? or should I try a new design?” I preferred to let it flow.

So I went to my stack of fabrics, selected some in the Spring mood, and my mind started to navigate between beach bags -’still too cold to go the beach’, I thought- more totes, or spring easy-to-carry-on models, maybe picnic-like… (soon you will find in my shop new bags and models with these fabrics)

Then I stumbled on this teal lining fabric I’ve already used in 2 of my recent creations, Haddeby in Mauve and the little sister Sieseby, and immediately thought about something new, or sort of new.

As lately my Ruffled pouch has been quite successful among treasuries, I thought to give it a try to this ruffled effect in this teal fabric. Since some days I wanted to experiment more with this texture. And seems I found a good fabric to experiment with.

So I worked on it all afternoon -was more difficult than expected-, with not so straight lines as the fabric is very thin and wavy. But in the end I love the shaky and puffy effect I got.

Then I thought, why not to give it a try, embellishing it with some nice Kanzashi flowers? In the end as sometimes my creative process goes, when its about creating unique objects, I came up with experimenting and trying new textures and produced this ooak beautiful wristlet clutch in teal and dark pink (almost red!). Love it!
